Important: By using CanYouHack, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully, especially the sections about acceptable use and competition rules.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CanYouHack ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Platform. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time.

Eligibility

To use CanYouHack, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years of age
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • Not be barred from using the service under applicable law
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information

Account Responsibilities

When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your password
  • Not share your account credentials with others
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account
  • Use only one account per person (no multiple accounts)

Acceptable Use

You agree to use CanYouHack only for lawful purposes. You must NOT:

  • Attack, compromise, or attempt to hack CanYouHack's infrastructure
  • Share flags, solutions, or hints with other participants during active competitions
  • Use automated tools or scripts to solve challenges unfairly
  • Impersonate other users or platform administrators
  • Post offensive, harmful, or inappropriate content
  • Engage in harassment, bullying, or discriminatory behavior
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or exploit the platform
  • Use the platform for any illegal activities

Challenges & Competitions

When participating in challenges and CTF events:

  • You must solve challenges independently or with your registered team only
  • Sharing flags or solutions during active events is strictly prohibited
  • All submissions must be your own original work
  • Brute-forcing flags without proper techniques is not allowed
  • Event-specific rules must be followed in addition to these terms
  • Rankings and scores are determined solely by the platform

Violation of competition rules may result in disqualification and account suspension.

User Content

By submitting content (writeups, comments, profiles) to CanYouHack:

  • You grant us a non-exclusive license to display and distribute your content
  • You confirm you have the right to publish the content
  • You agree not to post copyrighted material without permission
  • We may remove content that violates these terms
  • You retain ownership of your original content

Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination:

  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other accounts
  • DDoS attacks or any form of service disruption
  • Exploiting vulnerabilities in the platform (report them instead!)
  • Selling, trading, or buying accounts or solutions
  • Using the platform to distribute malware
  • Any activity that violates local, national, or international law

Termination

We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
  • Remove content without prior notice
  • Ban users from competitions for rule violations
  • Modify or discontinue services at any time

You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings.

Disclaimer of Warranties

CanYouHack is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • The accuracy of leaderboards or scoring
  • That challenges will be free from bugs
  • The security of your data (although we take reasonable measures)

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CanYouHack and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the platform.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of significant changes via email or platform notification.

Security Research

If you discover a security vulnerability in CanYouHack:

  • Please report it responsibly to [email protected]
  • Do not exploit the vulnerability or access other users' data
  • Allow us reasonable time to fix the issue before disclosure
  • We appreciate responsible disclosure and may acknowledge researchers
